Tree Removal

Tree Removal for Louisiana Homes and Businesses

Some trees have to come down. A pine leaning toward the roof, a water oak rotting from the inside, a tree that has outgrown the space between your house and the fence line — Bayou Boyz Tree Service has been taking down trees like these for Louisiana property owners since 2008.

Big trees, tight spaces

Dropping a tree in an open field is simple. Most removals are not. In Baton Rouge neighborhoods, trees grow close to houses, garages, pools, and property lines. When there is no room to fell a tree in one piece, we take it down in controlled sections — limbs first, then the trunk — and lower the wood instead of letting it fall.

Before any cutting starts, we walk the property with you and explain the plan.

What a removal includes

Every property is different, so the estimate spells out exactly what is included. A typical removal covers:

  • Cutting the tree down safely, in sections when space is limited
  • Hauling away branches and brush, or chipping them on site
  • Cutting trunk wood to length, or hauling it off — your choice
  • Raking and cleaning up the work area before we leave
  • Stump grinding, if you ask for it, quoted as a separate line item

Residential and commercial

We remove single trees from backyards and multiple trees from commercial lots, rental properties, and job sites. For commercial work, mention access hours and site requirements in your request so the quote fits how the job has to run.

When removal is the right call

Not every problem tree needs to come down. Removal usually makes sense when a tree is dead or dying, badly decayed, leaning hard toward a structure, or in the way of a project. If trimming would do the job, we will tell you.

Frequently asked questions

Can you remove a tree that is right next to my house?

Yes. Trees close to houses are taken down in sections, with limbs and trunk pieces cut small and lowered under control instead of felled whole. The plan depends on the tree and the space around it, which is why we look at the site before quoting.

Is stump grinding included?

Stump grinding is not assumed. Mention it in your estimate request and we will tell you how your stump can be handled; any stump work is quoted separately so you can decide.

What happens to the wood?

We can haul everything away, or cut the trunk into lengths and leave it if you want firewood. Let us know your preference and it will be written into the estimate.

Do I need a permit to remove a tree?

Rules vary by parish, city, and neighborhood association, and some protected trees or properties have extra requirements. Check with your local government or HOA before work begins; we are happy to talk through what we know for your area.
